Just what I needed after a long week of politics and war. I sent my parents to Ireland for two weeks years ago (my mother's parents came "over on the boat") but I haven't made it over yet. Now that I'm retired, I'll just have to get it booked and done.
Needless to say, we loved every word of this. Not sure you gave enough weight to driving in Ireland as a marital stress test, though. This was a line of inquiry we pursued with every couple we met, resulting in sighs of recognition all around. That rent-a-small-bus-and-driver thing sounds pretty good for next time!
